Get To Know Our World Class Instructors
Professor David Coppock has a love for martial arts and teaching that extends across decades. Professor Coppock began martial arts training in 1981 and earned his first black belt in American Kenpo Karate in 1985. He is now a 7th degree black belt in American Kenpo, holds a black belt in Krav Maga, and has taught thousands of students from all walks of life, including military, special forces, SWAT, and other law enforcement agencies. From young children through adults, Professor Coppock has been teaching martial arts since 1983 and has owned his school since 1996. Professor Coppock also teaches seminars across the western United States and in Belgium. In addition to his experience working with military and law enforcement agencies, Professor Coppock has real-world experience in tactical security and executive protection. During his time working with Vance International, Professor Coppock provided security for everything from violent labor disputes to diplomatic security and executive protection.
Professor Coppock is also well-known on the state, regional, and national tournament circuits, Competing all across the US, and also competing in Mexico, Canada, Guatemala, and England. He is president of the Colorado Karate Association and holds 96 state champion titles for forms and sparring. Nationally, Professor Coppock competes in the National Black Belt League and the North American Sport Karate Association and has earned 16 world champion titles for forms and sparring.
Professor Coppock has shown himself to be a fierce competitor but is also recognized in the martial arts community as an all-around great martial artist. He is featured in the Journey book as one of the top American Kenpo practitioners in the world and has also been featured on the cover of Century Martial Arts catalogs twice. Professor Coppock has also been honored by inductions into multiple Halls of Fame, including the Master’s Hall of Fame, the National Black Belt League Hall of Fame, the Cecil Peoples Hall of Fame, the Pacific Jewel Hall of Fame, the Colorado Karate Association Hall of Fame, and the Grand Slam Hall of Fame.
Although Professor Coppock has a vast wealth of experience in multiple areas of martial arts, his true love is teaching. With over 29 years of experience owning a martial arts school, Professor Coppock has the knowledge, experience, and patience needed to teach students from young children through adults and seniors. His love for teaching and sharing martial arts with students is evident in every class he teaches, guiding his students carefully through their martial arts journey.
